Diese Studie zeigt, dass mit der neuen Protonentherapie-Technik die Toxizit\u00e4t w\u00e4hrend der Behandlung kurz- und langfristig reduziert werden kann, bei gleicher Effizienz f\u00fcr die Behandlung des Medulloblastoms, einer speziellen Krebsart im Kindesalter.<\/p>\n<p>Bei diesem Krankheitsbild ist es zur Entfernung der Krebszellen notwendig, das gesamte Gehirn und die Wirbels\u00e4ule zu bestrahlen, mit den darauf folgenden Komplikationen, und zwar Zweitkrebs, Kardiotoxizit\u00e4t, Hormonst\u00f6rungen und kognitive St\u00f6rungen.
